Planning of parks and recreational areas

Plans are made for planned recreational, special and traffic areas in accordance with chapter 12 of the Land Use and Building Act (5.2.1999/132) and chapter 9 of the decree on land use and building (10.9.1999/895).

Plans are made for parks, playgrounds, dog parks, preserved recreational areas and streets.

The goal is to create a pleasant, vivid, accessible and safe urban environment that meets the principles of sustainable development both realisation-wise and maintenance-wise. When plans are being drawn up, also the economic efficiency of the solutions is taken account of. A general plan and/or a building plan are drawn up of each area.
