Income Support
(Social Assistance)
The City of Turku's Welfare Division Income support is intended to be temporary aid and is a last-resort benefit. In order to receive a last-resort benefit, a report about the applicant must be made which states that he/she is unable ta make a living through paid work, entrepreneurship or other income or assets.
The applicant must actively try to improve his/her living, for example, by trying to find a job, work try-outs at workplaces or apply for a placement at vocational schools.
| | Customer help Before applying for income support, the applicant must see to that the primary benefits applications for the reclaim of, for example, unemployment benefit, housing allowance, study grant or loan and protection of maintenance have been submitted which he/she is entitled to receive.
